In the Bible, Daniel received a series of visions and dreams that outlined God's plans for the future. Daniel 7:13-14 says, "As my vision continued that night, I saw someone like a son of man coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient One and was led into his presence. He was given authority, honor, and sovereignty over all the nations of the world so that people of every race and nation, and language would obey him. His rule is eternal-it will never end. His kingdom will never be destroyed." Throughout the Bible, clouds represent his majesty and glory and portray the Son of Man as divine. Jesus Christ was "appointed heir of all things" (Hebrews 1:2). When Jesus died on the cross, his blood, the price He paid, became our inheritance into the eternal kingdom that will never be destroyed. "God sent him to buy freedom for us who were slaves to the law so that he could adopt us as his very own children. And because we are his children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, prompting us to call out, ‘Abba, Father.’ Now you are no longer a slave but God's own child. And since you are his child, God has made you his heir" (Galatians 4:6-7).
The lyrics from "Blessed Assurance" captured my attention that night as well. The first verse says,
"Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!
Oh, what a foretaste of glory DIVINE!
HEIR of salvation, purchase of God
Born of his Spirit, washed in his blood"
Friend, Rejoice! If you know Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, you are a "Divine Heir" to the beautiful glory that awaits us! The Holy Spirit spoke that phrase to me while I was awake. But I now want to ask you, who is asleep in your life? Who do you need to wake to share the Good News before Christ's return? Who still needs their Divine Inheritance? I'm sure you can name at least several loved ones in your life who have not accepted this gift, the gift of ETERNAL LIFE. I urge you to write down their names and begin fervently praying over them. Pray for their eyes to see, their ears to hear, and their hearts to receive what the Son of the Living God has done for them.
